What Are The Rules?

Getting Started

Format

  • We play on hard-surfaces only (basketball courts, blacktops, parking lots, etc)

  • Each "session" is 1 hour long

  • Each "game" is 4 mins long

  • We play as many "games" as possible during a 1 hour "session"

  • Games end after 4 mins or after one team scores 3 goals

  • Winner stays on

  • In case of tie, newest team stays on

  • No goalies

  • No PKs

Teams

  • There are 3 teams per session

  • Each team is made up of 5 players

  • Maximum of 15 players/session

  • If a team is short on players, members of the team coming off (after a loss) can join the team coming on.

Rules

  • All goals must be scored over halfway line

  • All stoppages are restarted with kick-ins (e.g. corners, out of bounds, handball)

  • Goals CAN be scored off corner kicks. Goals CAN NOT be scored from sideline/byline kick-ins.

  • Kick-ins after goals should be taken from between goal posts, no further than 3 ft from goal-line

  • If there is a handball or a foul that denies a clear goal, a goal is given

  • Killer Goal: If the FIRST goal of a game is scored with a one touch volley (from a pass in the air that doesn’t bounce) that goal ends the game and the scoring team automatically wins. The ball can bounce on its way into the goal.

Gear

  • Goals are typically sized 4 x 6

  • Field size between 45-55 ft wide x 75-90 ft long (think: basketball court size)

  • A specific “Size 5” street-soccer ball is used (our own Street FC ball designed for this format)

  • Sneakers / flats recommended (no spikes, no cleats)

Cancellation Policy & Red Cards

If you are a late cancel or a no show, you will receive a Red Card.

Late cancellation is defined as:

  • PM Games - Cancelling less than 3 hours before kick off.

  • AM Games - Cancelling after 9PM the night before your game.

What happens if you get a red card?

  • For Subscribers - You are removed from any upcoming games, and unable to RSVP for 5 days.

  • For Pay Per Game Customers - We keep your $10 Guest Pass.

“Skill” Ratings

When you first join Street FC, we ask you to rate your skill level on a scale of 1 - 5 (which we call the K-Scale). This rating helps us place you in games that match your skill level – “Beginner Games”, “Standard Games” or “Advanced Games”. Once you’ve been assigned a rating on signup, your skill rating changes ONLY when other players rate you (we ask players to rate each other after every game). You can rate players up to 48 hours after your last game, and the rating on your Player Card will update once this window closes.

Some games are only accessible to people that have a high enough (or low enough!) skill rating:

  • Beginner Games 1.0 - 3.74

  • Standard Games 2.5 - 5.0

  • Advanced Games 3.75 - 5.0

“Chill” Ratings

Additionally, we ask each player to rate each other depending on their attitude and aggression (aka “Chill”). Think:  would you want to play with this person again, or would you go out of your way to avoid playing with this person? If you receive too many “not chill” ratings, you can expect to see Yellow Card or Red Card warnings, so please be polite and respectful (or get lost!)

Age Requirements

Street FC games are geared towards adult play (18+) however we do make exceptions for skilled 14-17 year olds (please have your parents email info@streetfc.com to give consent). You must be 13 or older to download and use the Street FC app.
